How to spend 14 days in Cambodia? … Flying into Phnom Penh is a great starting point. We spent 4 nights in this bustling city getting adjusted to Cambodian culture and learning about their unfortunate history with the Khmer Rouge.

Travelling by bus to Sihanoukville was next on the agenda, but not to stay and visit. After doing some research we realized the better choice is to use this city as a port and take the speed ferry to Koh Rong Samloem. It’s an absolutely beautiful island with white sand beach, clear water, no internet and solar powered energy. We spent 4 nights here and it was total bliss.

From Koh Rong Samloem, we took the speed ferry back to Sihanoukville, boarded the bus back to Phnom Penh to take an overnight bus heading straight to Siem Reap.

Siem Reap is the resort town for visiting the Angkor region which includes hundreds of temples and ruins, the most famous being the temple of Angkor Wat. We spent 5 nights in Siem Reap which gave us plenty of time to explore, take photos, videos and more photos! Angkor Wat is actually the place that inspired our whole big adventure to go around the world. It was a wonderful experience to finally be here and really soak it all in.
