Bali Gallery

From the moment we arrived in Bali, we knew we loved this beautiful place.  Our accommodations were beautiful villas and our transportation was a scooter which was really fun to drive around and only $2 to fill the gas tank.  There are so many healthy food options, especially vegetarian, vegan and raw!  Prayer and meditation is a common daily practise and every house has a temple, so there are literally thousands of temples.

Climbing Mount Batur, an active volcano, in the middle of the night to reach the summit for sunrise was definitely a highlight of our trip.  Also enjoyable is visiting local wood shops of talented craftsmen who carve large and extremely detailed statues along with doors and all types of furniture which can easily be shipped across the world to your home.

Deciding to spend a bit of time in Jakarta was not originally a planned destination in our travels, but turned out to be an enjoyable one nonetheless. It’s the capital and largest city of Indonesia, and one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. Most of our time was spent in a well known ex-pat area called ‘Kemang’. We did however, manage to escape the business of the city for a half day family hike just outside the city with an awesome organization idGuides.
